So I am sure everybody knows that one of the most hyped about brands these days is undoubtedly Morphe Brushes. And of course one of the most popular items from them is the 35O Palette. (And I mean, the popularity is so justifiable considering the gorgeous shades and the hype!). I have had the palette for a while now, but it took me so long to review because I didn’t want to write about something that I had given a real thorough testing. So once my testing was done I decided to finally just review it!!
I know that they have the newer versions of the 35O (with the all matte and all shimmer versions), but I think this palette is still more popular so I think the review is warranted. I am doing the review with the 35R palette (because you know, a two in one review is always a blast, LOL) and because they are somewhat similar and somewhat different palettes so I thought I would kill two birds with one stone with this post.

Morphe 350 palette
Okay so I will structure this post by just giving you an overall opinion on both the palettes. There are some things that both the palettes have in common. But then I will break down the review into specific reviews about each palette. I will also provide swatches of all the colours in the palettes. Grab yourself a mug of coffee because this is going to be a long post.

Review of Both Palettes:
If you want to purchase it off an South African website, for my fellow South Africans, you can use the links below and you will beable to purchased off Glamorise Brands, Via their dropshipping method, which I must say is like buying directly from Morphe themselves.
As I said, there are a few things about the palettes which are similar. I will quickly run through these. Pigmentation: Most of these shades really pack a heavy punch with the pigmentation! They tend to be insanely pigmented – the colour payoff is super intense! So use a light hand if you don’t want intense colour. But nothing brings me more joy then a heavy amount of pigment (this may sound sad to some people, but its true LOL)
Patchiness: However, some of the shades are patchy. The shimmery ones are sometimes a problem but once mastered they are beautiful to apply. Although one or two matte ones and any which have a chunky glitter are a little patchy and hard to apply. In total though, this is only 1-3 shades per palette so I couldn’t say that is a massive problem.
Creaminess: Regardless of the pigmentation or patchiness, the shadows are all super creamy. I’m love it.
Colour range: I think that all the palettes have such a beautiful shade range. Depending on what you’re after, I am sure that there is something that Morphe offers that you will love. I can almost guarantee it. In each palette the shade range is also awesome in itself. The shades are not too dramatically different that they can’t create a cohesive eye look, but at the same time they are so similar that there was no point to having all the shades.
Packaging: So obviously, the packaging is the same for both palettes. There are 35 shadows in each palette. It is in a black plastic package. The plastic isn’t so “cheap” at touch, and I don’t think that you could expect anything “expensive” for the affordable price tag on these. There isn’t a mirror on both the palettes. It is also fairly big so it would probably not be something that you want to travel with. It is very light though and thin so easy to store or put in your suitcase when traveling.
Morphe 35O Palette:
Now, the hype around this palette is extremely real.

This is an incredibly warm palette – you have beautiful matte transition colours which are warm and neutral; you have gorgeous bright oranges; you have a range of dark browns, red-browns and cool/neutral browns; you have awesome middle of the range browns – from puke coloured yellow browns to cool taupe browns; you have shimmers and mattes, satins and glitters. So… that all to say, the colour range is absolute perfection and the range of formulas and finishes in the palette makes it obvious right off the bat (and right from the Instagram photos), why this is popular.
But let’s be honest. The photos can be perfect, the colours can be perfect, but now we need to know is the product perfect?
I do want to comment on the packaging, although I did touch on it above. I think that because this is a rather large palette, and because it doesn’t have a mirror, one would be less inclined to reach for it. The packaging is extremely light, which is good for travelling, but just the size of the palette is an issue for some. To be honest, the lightness is one of my favourite qualities of the morphe palettes, as a make up artist it is vital for me to have something that won’t add much weight to my kit, as I hate to carrying things that are heavy, I mean seriously who doesn’t? I didn’t want to neglect this point because I really think that it’s interestingly something that really makes me more inclined to reach for this palette. It’s a strange but influential factor for me personally.

350 arm Swatches
As it says above, the pigmentation of these shadows are awesome. as you will see that in the swatches below. The matte shadows are actually so incredible in this palette. They apply with a lot of pigment and is easy on the eye, and they are not a huge struggle to blend out as long as you are gentle and quick. But the darker matte shades sometimes need a lot more effort to blend. However, I do think that they do end up blending into perfection if you try a little and it looks absolutely stunning when you do. Most of the shimmery shadows are so buttery and creamy that when you apply it onto your eye, there is intense pigmentation and gorgeous application in one swipe. It’s amazing. Particularly the ones that are more metallic. They make for such gorgeous lid colours or blending shades.
Although most of the colours are also very creamy – interestingly enough, the very shimmery ones and the matte ones are more creamy than the sparkly ones. However I do want to point out that some of the sparkly shades are not that creamy and are quite patchy. In the swatches below, it is harder to tell. However I do want to point out that there were some colours that feel a bit more “gritty” in between my fingers, and when they are applied to the eye, they are a bit more patchy, they do not build up consistent pigmentation and are not very easy to apply.

The specific shades in this palette that I had issues with were the second shade in the second row (a duo chrome shade with a golden undertone and hint of pink glitter) this was as I said, “gritty” and I tried to do a simple look with it, but the shade was not that good on the eye and I truly struggled to build up the pigmentation (I tried to use it by spraying my brush with the Smashbox water primer and dipped it into the shade in hopes that the pigmentation would improve…but it didn’t help much). But one thing to remember is that this is just one shade in a 35 shade palette. And since the palette is so affordable, one average shade may not deter you from purchasing the palette because of the many other good attributes to it.
Morphe 35R Palette:

Morphe 35R
The newest addition to my make up kit is the Morphe 35R eyeshadow palette, a thirty-five pan palette that contains a lovely mixture of matte and shimmer shades with both warm and cool undertones.

This gold-toned palette had been heavily promoted on social media. The 35R palette is structured with four columns of matte shades on the left (with two of the shades having subtle shimmers) and three columns of intense shimmer shades on the right. Some of the matte shades looked super amazing when doing a finger swatch on my arm, but I never base quality off of swatches because shades often times perform differently once they’re applied onto the eyes. Although some matte shades needed layering to achieve a deep coloration, they applied onto my eyes beautifully and were extremely easy to blend and build — no patchiness, unevenness, and they had great colour payoff. The shimmer shades in this palette left no room for grumbling because they’re simply unbelievable! Every shade needed only one swipe on my arm to reveal an intense vibrancy and the quality transferred over onto the eyes, giving a rich and vivid colouration that applied on smoothly and evenly. I truly love how workable these eyeshadows are and the array of shades in this palette is just stunning; the warm to cool ratio is perfect and you have every gold shade that you’ll ever need with a matte creamy beige for blending, a gorgeous champagne gold for highlighting, and plenty of neutral shades in between to create endless makeup looks.

So in regards to quality. The only issue I really have with these palettes is that a lot of the shades look very similar to the Morphe 350 palette. The formula of the shadows is like all of the other Morphe palettes, which is excellent. They do have a tiny bit of fallout, which is okay because you actually get pigment. The formula of the shadows is consistent, so there are not any bad or different shades in the entire palette, which is awesome.

As much as I love both my Morphe 350 and 35R, I must admit that having both with such warm and similar shades are is annoying, but then again it means I have neutral shades to last me couple years lol. I would give both these palettes 7 Lipsticks out of 10 because the are so annoyingly simialr.

I would love to hear what you guys think about the Morphe palettes, let me know in the comments section below.
