I have been procrastinating on putting the post out and may have leaked my own article by mistake so the delete button became my best friend. So here goes let’s start again.
Welcome back to my blog Glamaholics, It has been so difficult to start this blog up again, every day I power up my laptop, get a mug of coffee to type out about my experience of Beauty Revolution. But something or another seems to pop up that I can’t seem to type it out, so I decided to use the speech to text from my iPhone and copy and past it here but something went wrong and yeah… blah blah blah lol it’s all very technical really.
So if you have been on social media you will know of the event that took place in Johannesburg on the 6th and 7th of April 2019, But if you didn’t then my friend were in the world were you hiding?!!!???!

For months leading up to the big event, the BR Instagram page was serving content sent from the gods! The promise for an event that had international branded makeup, makeup master classes and so much more was all too good to be true, so when tickets sales opened naturally I grab a chance to purchase the option of the Beauty Box for R 450 and yes guys I did buy a ticket for a Master class, but that deserves a post of its own.
I had booked my flights and accommodation at Garden Court Sandton City a month in advance. My flight was booked for the 5th of April at 6:30 am in the morning so that I can kill two birds with one stone. I had a few business meetings to do once the check-in was done, and it was mostly set for the morning till 1 pm then I had the whole afternoon to myself in the beautiful room that was to be my home for the next 2 days.
Come Saturday morning and you would not have believed my excitement, doors were set to open at 9 am, I was up and ready at 4 am. Why you may ask? well, I needed to look the part of a 1. a serious blogger, there to review and 2. naturally take pictures for my Instagram. So my hair was done and makeup on fleek and all I needed to do was have breakfast. Once breakfast was done and dusted, I made the not so long walk to Beauty freedom (HAHA! Considering Nelson Mandela Square is right there lol)
Once at the convention centre, I followed the signage to the event room. I was so excited and felt like a celebrity! the Red carpet was rolled out, with a smoke machine blasting off, and once I checked in and got my Beauty Box, I was good to go to explore.
Once in, I had a difficult choice of which way to go. so I started at the MAC Cosmetics store where you could purchase your new Matte Lipstick ( I didn’t pick a shade at the event because I am a regular at the Mac Cosmetic store and I have a pro card and will get a few shades to test out for another blog post that’s soon to come)
So as you could see the MAC stand was super crazy, but then again a lot of the stands were, as I made my way down the rows, I was surprised to see a ReNew hair stand, which got me excited because I use ReNew hair colour to colour my hair (a review will be up very soon)

While typing this I realised that there is so much to show you and tell you guys that words won’t do justice, so check out my Instagram Highlights labelled Beauty Rev and you will be able to see a lot of behind the scenes and which stand I visited and much more, so do check that out.
Once after viewing EVERY stand at the event, I decided to stop by the Swittch Beauty Stand to get my hands on the #Liquidluck liner and the most hyped about AirMatte Lipstick that Swittch Beauty had launched at the event, I picked the shade 4:20 in the Airmattes and I’m absolutely in love with it. and Yes a review will be up on my blog soon. So the line to pay for Swittch seemed to be where everyone wanted to be lol. it was already 12pm when I stood in the line to get my products, but I needed the ladies room so badly that I abandoned my spot, got a pass out stamp on my left wrist and almost ran back to the hotel to leave my beauty box (I’ve heard at the event that some peoples either gotten stolen or misplaced, and I didn’t want that to happen to mine.) and use the bathroom and get my Master Class ticket that I had forgotten in my travel folder.

Lipstick Shade is 4:20
My Master Class was booked and paid for, for 1:30pm and I had planned to sit front row to be close to the Beauty Guru Queen of Youtube Rushana Isaacs I also wanted to get back in that Swittch Beauty payment line to get my products and pay for it, at 1:15pm I made payment and literally ran like a mad women to the Master Class area (more on master class deets coming up) but I was hindered by the “Moms with strollers”

Now I don’t have any issue with Moms and prams and our Indian Muslim women who want to take their precious ones along with them everywhere they go, so my comment on this isn’t about them as such, its more about the dynamics of BR changing in that instance for me, I honestly and wholeheartedly felt that once the prams and husbands and the prams filled with shopping bags had more of a “souk” feel, Husbands standing a good distance from their wives looking after a roaming toddler and passing their credit card over peoples heads to their wives who where at the stand with the stroller filled with with shopping bags. It got absolutely annoying, I myself had relayed on my husband’s Credit card BUT he did not attend the event and was not roaming around the event, Muhammad (Hubby) had kept himself busy and sent me money on my own card when he’s eventually stopped working lol.

I do understand the motto OR the message, rather, that Beauty Rev was trying to get across form this event.
Our inspiration comes from those breaking down beauty standards and reshaping them to include the previously excluded. Here, everything’s in and everyone’s invited. – Beauty Revolution “
I must admit that due to my body size, I always felt that I didn’t fit into this industry even though I am a Makeup Artist, so I get that, really I do. But since this eeked me out so much I decided to contact Yasmin Kathoria the founder of BR and first told her about this article and the negative points that I am sharing with you guys. My reason for doing this is because I really, from the bottom of my heart loved this event so much that I am working towards being a headliner in the next event because I want to be a part of something this great for years to come.

Yasmin, was kind and explained to me their plans for the next event which cleared up all my issues, I will leave this to BR social media and website to tell you all once they start adverting for the next event. Let’s just say that if you thought that this event was to die for, the next one is going to be just as amazing and whimsical if not more.
My final thoughts on this event are simple, I will definitely be back for the next event, I can’t wait for next year, and one can only imagine if this year’s event was so exciting and awesome what will next years bring!
