It’s no secret that I am a Huda beauty fan, from the lashes, to the lip contours, to the liquid mattes. So it’s no surprise that when the Huda Beauty Rose Gold palette came across my desk at the Glamorise Brands HQ, I simply fell in love with the look of the palette. As much as I loved it, I was a little concerned at how the pigments looked and how in the world do I use the textured shadows and make the most out of the palette. I then decided to visit my two trusted friends YouTube and Google. The reviews came as a total shock, majority didn’t like the palette at all, others complained about the textured shadows. But for me it was love at first sight, just looking at the textured shadows made my heart melt.

The outer packaging of the palette is uniformed to the lashes packaging with Huda’s eyes in greyscale and a touch of colour which I think is simply awesome. It has Huda’s signature eye logo that is enchanting on first glance. From my research many people disliked the palette itself. The palette is made from black cardboard which is lightweight in nature. The lid of the palette has a clear plastic which allowed me to view the array of the beautiful shades. Allot of bloggers and make up junkies mentioned the look of the Huda rose gold palette reminds them very much of the Z-palette. I do however agree with most people about the price point. One would expect for such a high-end price to have a metal packaging like the Too Faced or Urban Decay Naked palettes. What was also a bit disappointing regarding the price was that the palette didn’t come with a mirror for people on the go. While looking at the palette I find myself comparing the Huda Beauty Rose Gold palette to the Artist of Make Up Inspiration palette which is also cardboard and light weight in nature and also doesn’t come with a mirror, which seems like the new in thing for makeup brands but that is not even a deciding factor for me with any Eyeshadows palettes.

Before I purchase any Eyeshadows palette I look for at least 6 different make up looks that can be done with it, ranging from everyday looks to more seductive looks and more formal occasion looks. With 18 Eyeshadows in the Huda beauty Rose Gold palette that include neutrals along with pop of colour, I can find not just 6 looks but many more. At first look I felt that the Eyeshadows could be used for a more formal occasion, but as I played around with the shadows and different textures I was quick to realise that this palette can in fact be used as an everyday palette. My favourite part of the palette is the shadow itself. The Huda beauty Rose Gold palette contains 6 3D textured shadows, 2 Chromatic pressed pearls shadows, and 10 Matte eye shadow. What I love of the Huda brand is the name of the products. Each name describes the product down to a T. I found myself drawn to the shade #blessed which is a vintage gold shadow, more after I swatched it.

As any old school makeup artist would know, getting your fingers or back of your hands dirty is part of the beauty of our profession. And with the Huda beauty Rose Gold palette there was no exception. At the back of outer box it explains the directions of use, which I must say hasn’t been done in such away with any make up brand that have I had. The back of the palette clearly states “Foiled textures deliver their maximum pay-off when applied with fingertips.” So naturally the point of this palette is to use ones hands to apply, however if you have long nails or have cleanliness OCD then it does become a bit more difficult to use the textured shadows, these shadows feel creamy at touch and are virtually impossible pick up with a brush. The pigment of the textured shadows is beyond amazing. I have had many Eyeshadows in my 10years of being a makeup artist and this textured shadows have become my favourite, I have found that once you apply onto the eye s, no matter how much you blend the shimmer will still be there, which I must say is simply awesome The Pigment of the matte shadows are to die for, I love a palette that has high amounts of pigments so that I don’t have to build the product up to much, what I also noticed of the matte shadows is that there wasn’t much fall out and you don’t have to tap out the a lot excess of shadow from the brush. The pigments of the matte shadows are easy to blend and melt on eye like better, without losing much of the shade from the eye.

Surprisingly, the shadows are long wearing even without a primer, the foils didn’t crease up once on the eyelid. I haven’t as yet used any of the shadows wet, but I’m guessing that it will blow me away like the rest of it. Removing the shadow was easy with my make up eraser, my clients feedback surprised me a bit when one of them mentioned that she had to use an oil-based make up remover to remove the eye makeup because her facial wipe and regular remover didn’t remove it completely.
I have also read another blog that mentioned that there was some fallout from the foil shadows and she suggests doing the eye make-up first and then the rest of the face. It may seem a little weird for some people but not for me. When I start a make-up look I ALWAYS start with the eyes first anyway, reason being, if any fall out hits under the eyes I can clean it up with our removing any other product, its saves me from wasting a primer, concealer and foundation.

The Huda beauty Rose Gold palette is made in Italy which pushes the price up, and I do remember Huda Kattan saying on snap chat that, her choices for the shades is something that she loves and that she will wear, she also mentioned that she tried many factories and wanted the textured shadows to be on point. Huda Kattan vision for the shadows was a little more expensive, as much as tried to keep the prices as low as they possibly could, it just wasn’t possible for the formulation that she wanted for her “dream Eyeshadows palette” I do agree that it is a little more pricy than any other palette on the market. In my experience cheaper isn’t always better, would exception to Morphe and Colour pop. I personally understand wanting better quality and it being more expensive. But I honestly feel for a dream palette Huda Kattan knocked this out of the park!
In closing I personally feel that every make up junkie should own a Huda Beauty Rose Gold Limited Edition palette. I rate the palette a 9 lipsticks out of 10
